Lactate test - aerobic conditioning test
This test measures lactate values at 65, 75, and 85 percent of your best 5 minute power/pace in order to track improvements overtime.
This is a very cost effective test which is also short on required time and effort.
After a low intensity warmup the athlete completes 5 minutes at 65% of their 5 minute power/pace, then a lactate measurement is taken. 3 minutes recovery are given before the next stage, meaning the whole process only takes 21 minutes after the warmup, yet yeilds more information about fitness than a powermeter or pace file (running) could ever provide.
